Getting a site

What do I need to start?

A Google Maps link to the business, or just its name and city. Paste it on the home page and the site is live in about a minute.

Does it cost anything?

No. The free site stays free for as long as you want it, with no trial, expiry or card. It lives at yourname.tomobuild.com and carries a small Tomobuild badge. Paid plans exist for people who want their own domain and control over the wording; they are never required.

Do I have to own the business to generate a site?

No. Anyone can generate one, because everything it uses is already public on Google. Only the owner can claim it, which is what unlocks editing and payment. Claiming is verified against the phone number on the Google listing, so nobody can take control of a business that is not theirs.

Will two businesses end up with the same-looking site?

No. The category decides the layout, the reviews decide the words, and the colours are drawn from a range seeded by the business itself, so two cafes on the same street get different sites.

About the reviews

Where does the content come from?

From the business's public Google listing: its reviews, category, hours, photos and rating. The headline and description are written from what customers actually said. Nothing is invented, and no review is quoted that was not publicly posted.

Are these my real reviews?

Yes. Every quote on a site is a real public review of that business. Reviewer names are not shown on free sites. The star rating and review count are Google's own numbers and link back to the listing, so anyone can check.

Why is a negative review not shown?

Because the site is the business's own front page, not a review platform. It uses what customers praised, the same way any business chooses what to put on its window. What it never does is hide the overall picture: the real Google rating and the full review count are always shown and always link to Google, where every review, good and bad, is one tap away. A site cannot claim 4.9 stars if the listing says 3.6.

I wrote a review and do not want it on a website.

Email hello@tomobuild.com with a link to the site and the review, and it will be removed promptly. You do not need to give a reason.

Can I refresh the site when I get new reviews?

Yes, from the claim page. A free claimed site can be refreshed once a month; Pro twice a month. The cap is deliberate: a site that visibly changes every few days reads as unstable rather than fresh.

Owning it

Someone made a site for my business and I did not ask for it.

Two options, both from the same place. Claim it, which takes a minute and puts you in control of what it says. Or claim it and choose "Take this site down": it is removed immediately, the address says so, and it will not be rebuilt if someone pastes the link again. Claiming is a one-time code to the phone number on your Google listing, which is why nobody else can take your site down either. No phone on the listing? Email hello@tomobuild.com from your business's own web domain.

How does claiming work?

You confirm a one-time code sent to the phone number on the business's Google listing. That number is already public, and it is the one thing an impostor does not have access to.

What can I change on a Pro site?

The headline, description and button labels; which photos are shown and in what order; your own logo; and the overall look from a set designed for your category. Reviews and ratings cannot be edited, because a site whose reviews were rewritten by the business would be worth nothing to its customers.

What is the monthly read?

Once a month, Tomobuild looks at your Google listing and tells you how it moved: your rating, your review count, and which reviews are new. On Pro it also writes three plain sentences on what customers said this month and flags a complaint that two or more low reviews share, plus a weekly alert when a new low review appears, because a complaint answered in the same week is a customer kept. It appears on your claim page and, if you add an email, in your inbox.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes, on Pro. You keep ownership of the domain and point it at Tomobuild from wherever you bought it; the SSL certificate is issued and renewed for you. The free tomobuild.com address keeps working alongside it.

Paying

Why is the price in rupees for some businesses and dollars for others?

Prices are set per market. A business located in India is billed in rupees; a business anywhere else is billed in dollars. It follows the business's address, not where you happen to be browsing from.

Is the promotional price permanent?

For you, yes. If you subscribe at the promotional price, it stays your price for as long as you keep the subscription. The higher figure shown alongside it is where the price goes for new subscribers later, not a price anyone has been charged.

What happens if I stop paying?

Nothing is deleted. The site stays live on the free plan at its tomobuild.com address, the badge comes back and the custom domain is disconnected. Resubscribe and everything is restored.

Can I get a refund?

If it is your first payment and Tomobuild is not right for you, email within 7 days and it is refunded in full, no questions. Full details on the refunds page.
